Militia should be French Line conscripts, according to the official scenario. No?

The scenario embedded into the Vassal module (as at v2.2) incorrectly gives French the first move. Checked against the published scenario.

Thanks for checking. I think we played with Gileforn this incorrectly. Thanks for catching this error!

3 French and 3 British wins. Broad spectrum of results.
A balanced, primarily infantry battle.

French Victory 14 - 11. Fantastic battle with a few lead changes and momentum swings. Very bloody with 3 leader kills.

A French victory 14-11. On the left, after reducing the British cavalry at the fords, the French cavalry guarded the river crossings and by intimidation prevented the British right flank from influencing the battle throughout the contest. On the opposite flank, a cautious, if not lethargic, advance caused no real threat to the French who were happy to sit back unmolested.

All the action took place in the centre, where the French adopted the Wellingtonian tactic of defending behind the hills, thus nullifying the British line fire combat advantages. A couple of bayonet charges by the British in the centre were beaten back with heavy loss and the resulting banners formed the basis of the French victory. The French 14 included banners for a British leader ad no Allied units in St Boes, while the British 11 included banners for occupying the church and Orthez. A number of hill hexes changed hands, but the French ended up in total control of them all.

A hard-fought battle whose outcome remained in doubt until the last card play secured the three banners the French needed for victory.
