Salamanca Epic scenario

Because the Salamanca scenarios are a "left" and "right" scenario, Alessandro added both together to an epic scenario.

We modify the CCA epic rules a little bit, to play this scenario.

Alessandro an I am want try a test game today evening at 20.30 GMT.

First thoughts about rules/cards modifications:

1. Play 1-3 section cards OR one Army card
2. Each section may get only a section card.
3. If a section card allows to order units in different section, the cards counts then as 2 (Flank Attack) or 3 played cards (Coordinated Attack).
4. After turn, you may draw 2 cards (observe hand limit)
5. If you play at least one Scout card, you may draw 3 cards and keep 2 (observe limit of hands)
6. Inspired Field General Play: The CiC may give one FG exact same section cards of these cards: Scout, Probe, Attack. That counts as 2 played cards, and he may still play another section card in another section.
7. If section cards (or a double action card is played as field) are played, field commanders, which get no card, are allowed to make a INI roll.
If CiC play a Army card, the FG are not allowed, to make INI rolls

Modified Tactic Cards:

First Strike: Player battles with FS with +1 dice
Assault: up to 6 units in section
Force March: up to 6 units in section

Played first game with Alessandro, was fun :cheer:

My thoughts was, change/modify so less rules and/or cards as possible ;)

Surely, it would be better, if there was a special epic deck, similar CCA or MM44, but it worked good so far.

I think, Alessandro will write also a little bit about the game

Hi guys,
in the past days I've managed to play Epic Salamanca with Michael and I really enjoyed it so much (even if I'm actually a little bit newbie even with standard rules).
Michael helped me so much during the game but in the end Victory has been totally his.
I think that with small card variation the whole effect is really good.
I suggest other guys to give them a try and maybe discuss it here in the forum.

But we test it only with 4 square possibilities for each side like in the standard
map. This was enough, but if i should expand the square possibilities up to 7-8 (because its a epic), then i have to "cut" the sideboard with the square fields and
Command Card Deck from the scenario map and put this into a separate window (similar
Bill´s CCA epic module).

Therefore, all suggestions are welcome, i´ll try ever, to do a module from a player
for players ;)

Ok,
i updated my fan epic/breakthrough vassal extension
to version 1.6.
I replaced some cards of the BT deck and all cards of
the EPIC deck with the fan made cards of Chris Roper.

Alessandro can replace the current version here for download (also the 2 single BT/Epic scenarios) next.

The updated version is also available in
my CCNapo-Tournaments-Yahoo-Group
see links site for URL.

Well, i noticed, that Chris used the "On the move" also for Epic.
This OtM is not used for epic games, only for Breakthrough!

I did it like that only one deck of cards is needed for playing any scenario style.
In Epic you ignore the "On the Move" section
In Breakthrough you Ignore the Border Designations
In normal games you ignore both.

I thought it would avoid having to have 3 separate VASSAL Modules, but if one module can have several decks then I will gladly separate the cards into 2 decks.

It could be interesting to try it with the On the Move options though, even in a standard game, it allows for a lot more maneuvering without slowing down play.
