Artillery Reposition Tactician Card

An artillery unit is in an adjacent hex to an enemy unit. It battles in melee. Can this card be played immediately the artillery battle dice are resolved, or must the enemy unit be allowed to battle back (if possible) before the move away?

the latter.. Battle back is part of the Melee combat, and the Artillery reposition happens "after battle"

I considered the literal wording. 'after IT battles' and also the possibility that it's move could be similar to a cavalry break-off i.e. hits on red only.
However that makes equal sense, I'll go with that.
