Mike Stanley (scipio1zama) French – 9 banners – won (First game, played October 17)
Andrey (Azzy) Allies – 4 banners
There was no fighting at all on the French right/Allied left flank.
Fighting in the center cost the Allies 1 LN and the French 3 LN. BUT the Allies had 3 LN and 1 LC all reduced to 1 block. One of the town hexes was occupied by the Allies for much of the game but was vacated on the next to last French turn, regaining a banner for the French. The best Allied turn was the third, when a Fire & Hold eliminated 2 French LN and damaged another in the Center, as well as one on the left.
Fighting on the French left/Allied right cost the French 1 LC and cost the Allies 2 LN, an LC, an HC, an HA and the leader Hill (all Brits) and a Portuguese LT. Some good dice rolls allowed the French to do a lot of damage with an early Coordinated Advance, and their final card play, a Probe Left, took out a British Line that was in square, along with the leader Hill, and then a Portuguese LT that was in square for the 9th banner.
Karma was re-established when Andrey won the second game as the French, 9-3, on October 24, q.v.
