VASSAL Intruder From Italy

Strange we have a spammer here today as I was going to post this message yesterday about a similarly trolling incident.

Whilst on VASSAL playing a C&C game this Sunday just gone, a member who's IP showed as Italy (Tuscany/Umbria), joined the game room and began moving pieces on the board and rolling the dice. Their tag name was shown as Mavoc or Maroc. One to watch out for if they join your game room. I looked for a way on the interface to chuck the person out of the room but was unable to find a way to do so.

don't know about chucking someone out, but you can lock the room once you are in. (Self-quarantine as it were)

Once you make the room, right click on the room name and choose lock!

Might have been someone stupid and curious, thinking it wasn't a live game. Did you tell him to stop?

Great news, I'll let the league members know.

He was told to stop and after hanging around a bit he disappeared and then returned once more. No tricks that we noticed thereafter. All the same, its worth bringing it to the attention of VASSAL players here in case the name appears again. Once more, thanks for the room lock information.

It is well possible that the person was new to VASSAL and didn't know that the modifications he was making were propagated to the other players. I had a similar experience some weeks ago, don't remember which game. As general advice, consider that people not fluent in English might be reluctant to interact and sometimes they might appear rude but in fact, they are just shy.

I can assure you from years of dealing with multi-nationals in my career, I'll keep my own council rather than the peanut gallery's "General Advice".

Note my words "One to watch out for" to VASSAL players. No other accusations than that. Glad you appreciated the heads up.

Where did you get the impression that my experience with multi-nationals is inferior to yours? For instance, I speak your language and you don't speak mine. N'est-ce-pas? Maybe I'm teaching you a lesson. Think about it.
