A killed Leader count as normal as Victory Banner and as one block lost.

An offboard retreated leader don´t count as VP but as one block lost.

Round 1 Scenario Elchingen (304)
Michalxo (French) 7 banners - 16 blocks lost
Mark McG (Allies) 2 banners - 33 blocks lost

Commentary:
Initial French attack pushed artillery and LN from hills, reducing effectiveness of holding center hills. Austrians replied on center and french left flank, attacking LT in woods. French cavalry was sent to resolve this though situation on left flank, which decided about the result of battle. Both sides were battling with big Elan(s), but French were more successful this time. Final desperate attack of Austrian Cuirassiers did a lot of problems to infantry in center, but they managed to hold and destroy them on 3rd attack.
Thank you Mark for battle. Especially start and end were very interesting for me.

Round 3 Scenario Wagram (Macdonald’s Square) (319)
Michalxo (French) 7 banners - 16 blocks lost
nekengren2 (Allies) 2 banners - 30 blocks lost

Commentary
After initial MacDonalds square movement and hard attack from Austrians, destroying 1 and a half of units, French gave a brutal melee strike, destroying almost everything they saw. (great dice) Austrians commanders got so surprised, they did not know what to do and lost a lot of precious time to put a decent counter-attack. (No cards). Austrians decided to attack strong with cavalry on MacDonald's first line of his powerful formation, but apart from forming squares and minor loses on both sides, nothing have stopped backing French cavalry to possess second village and force Austrians to decide a loss.

Thank you very much for game Neal. I have really not expected such a win after your initial attack. On contrary.. :-)
Looking forward to next battles.

Round 2 - Eylau - 8 to noon (Scenario 206)

Bayernkini (French) - Trout (Allies)
7 (14 Blocks lost) - 2 (22 Blocks lost)

Starting on a French left advance, following of a Bombard, which kills a russian ART in one roll, gives me hope, to increase the statistic of this game from 28% to 35% on my side :)

Chris countered, which is bad in this scenario, because the Russian have a lot of ART. He also kills one of my 2 ART in one roll, so the statistic and my hope decrease again to 28% :)

In following turns, most Action was in Center and French Left, and without any usefull Cards on Russian side, the French could hold there advanced position on the Left (with one Victory Banner for Hill).

A final Force March, which brought also the Old Guard in melee, finished the game at last.

So i could beat the statistic and this victory bring me back into tournament :)
Indifferent of this, a nice game, which shows, the French must advance, if possible, before the russian outstanding ART weak to much French units.

Round 5 118 Ordal Cross
Rudi (French) 4 banners - 27 blocks lost
Mark McG (Allies) 6 banners - 24 blocks lost

The Spanish never inspire my confidence, and the little outpost on the left fell on Turn 1 in one roll. Not an auspicious start, even when he could have shone with a 1st Strike. My follow up was to Short Supply the French artillery, effectively taking them out of the battle.

The French cavalry pressed in on the Left flank, and despite extricating the Spanish cavalry to the Centre, things looked grim. Fortunately the French shifted their attack to the Allied Right, where the British held firm and dealt out good firepower, forcing back the assault, and once sent back, the Brits started a flanking move of their own.

The single Guerilla Marker cancelled Elan, which shifted rthe initiative I felt. The French were reacting to my moves, and a Cavalry charge to take control again misfired through weakness. The response was enough to almost win, killing 1 cavalry and a leader and reducing the 2nd cav to 1 block. The one day the British cavalry did a good job.

The final Spanish square fell to the French, but the counter attack on the Allied Right managed to snatch the final block and clinche the match.
Allies 6 (24 blocks), French 4 (27). A tough and close match.

MT9 Game Round 3 Rudi vs. Trout

A thrilling and exciting game. We both forget to start a log File. so I hope Chris (Trout) can short confirm this. The French concentrate on the left. First pan to get 2 VB for the City Hexes. Overacting as I am I burnd my nice Cav. In a Charge on Turn 1. With no ground get but a First strike pulled from the Allies hand.
After This McD. formation moved steady to the left and front. Th Aus. Grenadiers come to fight the French troops and it was very close when I got a brilliant Dice stroke with in the end killed also a Leader from the Grenadiers ranks. The result don't match the game, it was more close like it looks.

Rudi won 7 Flags - lose 22 Blocks
Trout won 4 Flags - lose 32 Blocks

Very exciting and I hope to play you again Chris.

Cheers
Rudi

P.s. again sorry for miss the Log File

Round 5 Scenario Ordal Cross (118)
Michalxo (French) 6 banners - 29 blocks lost
nekengren2 (Allies) 4 banners - 31 blocks lost

Commentary
Personal thoughts of French commander before battle: With such a bad conditions, (all cards were on left flank! and one center card)
I can only hope for quick battle and go home at least with my head up. We will surrender quite early...

Initial plan to attack from right flank, supported by center could not work out, because of really big mud and bad weather conditions on far right flank. French decided to do some action on left flank, to completely surprise allies and disorganize them at least. Some minor battle took place on center, which turned out to completely scare Spanish cavalry and effectively destroying them. Also, infantry holding the hill did not held as well as their commander would expect, and took some hits. Some more action took place on French's left flank, destoroying few infantry units on both sides. Allies took stronger positions on French's left flank and forced French completely out of left flank, backing towards center and almost running away from battle. British cavalry took some courageous lone attack on infantry, doing some damage, but taking more and leaving the battle soon after that... it was 4-4 and battle still not decided for any side. Spanish Guerilla worked very effectively, but once, giving French units finally some momentum to attack and give powerful blow to British rifles. After that, French took some great maneuvers and prepared cavalry to launch final attack and destroying final british artilery.

From really bad situation, French managed with great portion of luck and courage to get a very precious victory and repulse allied forces. For a price of hard casualities as well.

Was a really though and exciting game for us. Officially - I hate to play against Spanish, where GM takes action. :)
Thank you Charles!
Looking forward to next battles.
