OT2021 Round 1

210 Borodino - Shevardino Redoubt (5 September 1812) [OT2021 - Round One - 2nd game]
French(A) 10(9+1) vs Allies(soul1st) 2

Long and tense battle. The French struggled to remove the Russian skirmishers for a long time. Therefore their advance was painfully slow in the middle. While on the Left the French managed to secure the villages after a long fight. Russian Cavalry launched a formidable charge causing confusion among the blue ranks. The reckless Curassiers and Heavy cavalry were finally isolated, surrounded and destroyed by the more numerous French. Gen. Emmanuel was killed while holding the village of Dorodino against all odds.

This battle is a real meat grinder for sure. The battle was a much closer struggle than the score would suggest.  I had the feeling that even tough Twan was dealing out damage more effectively than me but was unable to kill off my depleted units all along the game. ​
Another great game with an excellent and noble opponent.

That was a wonderful game with maneuvres and rush attacks. The left French flank was really bloody, cavalry on the both sides made all what it can. Towns were captured and back. As result the victory can be on the both sides, but Giulio was better commander and won. Thanks to Giulio for the great game.

Giulio tried to find time for the second game but unfortunatelly hadn't. So he decided to give victory and two points for it to my side.
