So as a wrap up for this variant scenario, the Spanish won 11 of the 19 recorded matches (57.9%), with a range between a 7-0 Spanish win to a 7-1 French win.
Interestingly, in the top 5 matches, the winning player won both matches, so a equal split between Spanish & French wins in the Top 10. The average score for the loser in these matches was 4.5 banners. Of the 19 matches, 7 had final scores of 7-6, and 4 had 7-5 final scores.
On the whole I'm not unhappy with that result, and whilst it can be said that luck with cards and dice determine the outcome, that is true in almost every C&C game between equal players.
