BH11 Dresden - Day2 - French Right flank (27 August 1813) [OT2020 - First Round - 2nd game]
French (Kandras78) 8
Austrians (g1ul10) 2
Early French attack on the Left has forced the Austrians out of the village. Austrians were able to deploy their cavalry into a threatening position in the center. A French preemptive charge by their horse against the hills on the right threw back the white light units and managed to capture Gen. Mesko and his Horse Artillery. The Austrian cavalry took a bloody revenge whiping out a Chasseur and a Heavy formation in short order. The French cavalry countered with retreating the on Right and the Lancers running down an Austrian battery and a Light in the center. Hungarian Hussars trying to drive the Lancers back were scattered by a combined arms attack. Austrian foot moved forward but suffered casulties under heavy cannonade. Then a French Bayonet charge hit hard the Austrian lines causing a massive damage and slaining Gen. Liechtenstein. A desperate counterattack has been repulsed (2x Infanry Combat First) by the French bringing the battle to its end.
Luck was clearly favouring Blue in the most critical situations during the battle.
A special thanks goes to my opponent for his patience for calls interrupting both our games.
