215 Maloyaroslavets (24 October 1812)

Game 1
Toganalper(France): 6
Gileforn (Russia): 10

That was a really big fight. With the first turn Russian troops destroyed light infantry in the center. Than positioning fight has been started. Russian artillery moved step forward to the better position, French maneuvered and placed artillery in the center of the battle. Russians were more lucky. They captured two leaders and lost only four units. French troops have controlled town till the end of the game.

Game 2
Toganalper(Russia): 9
Gileforn (France): 10

The second game was also very difficult for the both sides. Many troops have just one unit at the end of the batlle. Town was also controlled by French army. Russians had only one step to the victory. They have destroyed infantry troop on lthe hill near the Luzha. The leader can;t retreat to the river and was captured. Grenadiers tried to destroy Heavy cavalery but without succes. Old Guard leaved the town and made a final 6d throw against one health grenadiers. French side was more lucky in this round.

Thank you for the good game!

Game 1
rfdoane (France): 10
Simba28 (Russia): 3

After pounding on the French artillery in the center, the Russians used La Grande Manoeuvre to rush up to the village without taking any losses. The subsequent French attack cut off a Grenadier unit and caused heavy losses to the other two. The Russians captured one town hex for a few turns but were ultimately forced out. Fighting then shifted to the left and right where the French cavalry charged and eliminated several units, but took heavy losses in return. A final advance on the left by the French line infantry netted another elimination for the win.

Game 1

Gonzo (French): 10
Soul1st (Allies): 3

The Russian tried with repeated attacks in the center to capture the town but failed to do so. The French replied and the Russian attackbled to death, after which the French heavy cavalry and the Old guard finished the job.

Game 2

Gonzo (Allies): 8
Soul1st (French): 10

This game was played over two sessions. The battle started with a fire fight in the center. After that the Russians launched a cavalry attack. It took some time for the French to bring up their heavy cavalry to participate in the battle. The Russians pinned the French right flank in squares and defeated some French units in the center. The French launched an attack on the left with the old guard and the remaining full strength infantry units. The Russians reacted and destroyed the old guard. A leadership card played by the French helped in destroying three Russian units in one turn. The score at this moment was 8 - 7 in favour of the French. The Russians had bad luck in what was to be their last turn, after which the French scored the final two hits.

Hey Guys: I'm not sure where to jump in here. Is it too late for a newcomer to join in the fray? Or, is anyone interested in a pick-up game?

Thank you and happy New Year!
