Game 1
ToganAlper(French): 8
gottoman (allies): 4

The French under the command of Fery decided that the best defense is a fast attack on the Austrians. All the fighting then continued in front of the T
Telnitz on the hills next to the Satchen Mereş The Russians also tried to help the struggle sending some of their GR LN and LT but the French with the help of the War Gods were able to first defeat the Russian Line Infantry and their Grenadier inf near the hills and finally attacked the Austrian GRZ to win the battle.

Merry X-mas to everybody the second game will follow in the new year :))

Game 1

The majority of the action took place on the French right section. Allies attacked boldly with the intention of conquering the village and did it. WIth big efforts, the French managed to re-conquer it. At that point, I was pretty much in control of the match but I made the horrendous mistake of moving my cav out of Telnitz, charging a single block squared unit of Russia grenadiers. Honestly, I had 5/12 probability to close the match there, so maybe the mistake was not so horrendous :-) But in any case, I failed and the next turn the Cossacks were back in the village. Since then I had to struggle with very bad cards while the Allies conquered one VP after the other while crawling across the river into the central village. Finally, also thanks to good rolls, I eliminated one of those light infantry commandos for the final VP.

WIth tactician cards, special rules, victory conditions, and national specificities, there are a lot of things to remember and handle in this scenario. Maybe too many for my tastes. I feel this as an undeserved victory. I have the impression that I'm still learning this game. Tony seemed so aware of the overall development and the available opportunities. For sure, I learned from him.

The Austrians pushed really hard to take the Village of Telnıtz. Even bringing their Artillery to the hills just in front of the town. The french right flank totally collapsed. Then the french tried to attack at the center to stop the Russian advance. But he dice and luck was on the Russian sıde.

Game 2

Twan van Dijk (soul1st) – French – 8 banners
Mike Stanley (scipio1zama) – Allies – 2 banners

Most of the battle took place on the Telnitz side of the board. The French were able to bring all of their forces on that side accross the stream and above Telnitz.
After that a firefight broke out which weakened some units on both sides. The allies attacked with their cavalry and took out a french LN unit. The french responded with the cavalry and severely weakened an allied cavalry unit and forced some Grenzers into square which they broke with a tactic card.
The allies responded and were able to decimate one of the french LC but not destroy it. The firefight continued. Now also on the other sections of the board.
The allies then tried to take one of the squares in Telnitz, which was abandoned by the French to bring reinforcements forward, with their Cossacks. The French prevented this with their artillery and light infantry. The allies charged with the bayonet at that artillery unit but it responded with cannister at one of the attacking units and some lucky dice rolling at the other which took one Russian LT completely out.
On the next French turns a forced march and a flank attack was executed which resulted in more Austrian casualties on the now severely weakened Allied right.
The pesky Cossacks however did not give up and managed to occupy one of the Telnitz hexes, denying the French the two victory markers with which they started the game. Russian units from the center then charged with the bayonet at the French right and destroyed a LC unit. Other French units were saved with the help of Infantry Combat First and Battle Back Bonus tactic cards. The French survived for the most part the Russian bayonet charge and were able to retake the Telnitz hex with reinforcements from the center.
On the last Allied turn a French Line unit was forced to retreat with a TGB (Tres grande battery, 3 units) from Sokolnitz.

Again a long but enjoyable game.

Bangla (Allies) vs Giulio (French) looked like an interesting game.

If I saw it right, I think, Bangla - you played the TC card "Hold the Line Leader" when you didn't need to ? Two flags to ignore, you were supported and Russian LT can ignore 1 flag anyway.

Giulo - how do you manage to remove the banner marker from the board? It is something I've never been able to work out a way to do.

The "Hold The Line" card needed to be played. There was no leader stacked with the LT so it would have had to lose another block for the second flag.
Regarding the banners to be removed, you simply hold down the SHIFT key, right click, and then select the delete option. You can do the same for anything, including terrain features.
Cheers
Bangla
PS, I was the Allies and Giulio the French :)

The match kicked off with the allied cav. charging on to the French left. The French to a bit of a licking here as their squares were broken, even losing a leader. Not to be pushed around the French pushed back in the same area a few turns later and ground up the Allies. However, attrition in on the left was too much for them and they slowly defeated. The Allies could have played this one better VP wise. All of the banners were from blocks, not special conditional VPs....could have reduced the French VPs by at least 2 if played on for a few soft turns.

Game 2
Zamba Bones (Allies): 8
Mantra (French): 4

Much like the first battle the Allied hoard came crashing into the French left. The French didn't have any meaningful cards in this section to start, so they took a whipping early on, while slowly top decking the CCs to build up a repulse mid game. The allies pressed on and the French holed up in the towns. The boys in blue were able to push back a little on the left, but the damage was done as the allied center came into play and crossed the river.

Bangla, thank you for pointing out how to remove the banners! Is there a way to put them back later if conditions change? I just saw this and am not on Vassal right now.

To get the markers back, and get others too, just click on the Terrain button, open up the Markers tab, and then simply drag the appropriate marker onto the board and leave it where you want.

This was a tense battle throughout. Hostilities began on the French right, but the Austrians seemed to have just woken up and had terrible luck, shooting at rocks and shadows on the hills, but missing the French. The French troops pushed the Austrians back, and a suicidal act of valor by Margaron and the French light cavalry, assisted by French Infantry, resulted in the destruction of three Austrian units and Russian Cossacks. The battle then shifted to the French left/Allied right with the Allies moving down towards the Castle and town. Despite assembling a Grand Battery, the Allied forces could not hit much and an attack by the Allied Heavy Cavalry was repulsed. Finally, the Grand Battery annihilated a French Light Unit with 15 dice (!) trying to eliminate one of the artillery units. However, the French sortied on the left, taking out Allied units to end the game. The Allies did not make it into any of the towns and did not cross the river. The battle was on the fence for much of the game and very exciting. Thanks, Joe!
