Round 4
Scenario 420 Wavre
Scipio (Allies) 2 Banners won, 13 blocks lost
Mark McG (French) 8 Banners won, 7 blocks lost

An unusual match in that the vast majority of banners came from sources other than unit kills. Both Allied banners were from Scout cards, whilst 5 of the French banners came from units over the river.

I (the French) started with La Grande Manoeuvre which kind of set my mind towards a crossing. The other cards set me towards the Left, including a Forced March for the crossing. The LT softened up Limal, and Gerard made the crossing. Once the town was taken, and the MI & RI destroyed, the French rushed over using LGM. Despite Prussian efforts to escape, another MI was overtaken and eliminated, ending the game.

All centred around the good fortune to start with the LGM card. C'est la guerre.

Round 5
Scenario: 419 Plancenoit (18 June 1815)
toddrew (Allies) 5 Banners won, 34 blocks lost
Mark McG (French) 9 Banners won, 29 blocks lost

In an overload of gaming, Todd and I squeezed in Plancenoit. French had good cards in this game, whilst the Prussians seemed to have not so good. Even so, I could feel a steady pressure against the towns, and a need to garrison them from a lightning Prussian advance. The game had an attritional quality, with the Prussian front rank blasting away into the villages, and the infantry there shooting back.

The French cavalry came out and had a minor win over the Prussian cavalry, 2 losses to 1. On the whole it was the steady French artillery that held the day in the end. Not our finest games, but the French held on with better dice overall for a the win.

Round 5
Scenario: 419 Plancenoit (18 June 1815)
Theimann(Allies) 6 Banners won, 37 blocks lost
Bayernkini (French) 9 Banners won, 25 blocks lost

An early LA GRANDE MANOEUVRE helps the French to bring their OG and YG in position.
Then the game was a long time balanced with attacks and counter attacks.
Final the French Guards could hold objectives and together with their battle strength
they won the game.

Round 3
Scenario: 015 - Waterloo (18 June 1815)
Scipio(Allies) 7 Banners won, 35blocks lost
Bayernkini (French) 8 Banners won, 35 blocks lost

After a failed french CAV charge, it seems a long time, that the battle is lost for french.
But french come back with a Leader kill and bad allies dice/cards.
Final the game was finished with another successful Leader kill (3 in game) again.
Personaly, i never liked this Leaderchecks (also in CCA), i wished, such a killed leaders wouldn´t count as VP.

Round 3
Scenario: 015 Waterloo (18 June 1815)
toddrew (Allies) 7 Banners won, 28 blocks lost
Grondeaux (French) 8 Banners won, 33 blocks lost

A nail-biter. The French started out by rousting the British from Hougemont. The Card & Dice Gods were initially not very kind to the Allies, and they could not respond to the French attack. A mid-game Bayonet Charge by the French tossed the Allies out of Papelotte. The momentum (and the Card and Dice Gods) then favored the Allies, as they destroyed advancing French units in a single dice roll with devastating combined arms attacks. This brought the banner count up to 7-7. The French finally got the win with a two-turn combined arms attack on La Haye Sainte, using their GHC. Just like the real battle it was, "the nearest run thing you ever saw in your life," although fortune favored the French this time.

Thanks Todd, for a great game.

Round 1
Scenario: 418 Ligny (16 June 1815)
plainscape (French) 6 Banners won, 43 blocks lost
toddrew (Prussian) 11 Banners won, 36 blocks lost

Not nearly the disparity indicated by the banner count - French did fall behind early after making ground to take St. Amand and Wagnelee, but did take the majority banner objective when the Prussians vacated Ligny to press back a mounting French attack on the Prussian left. The objective was very temporary as La Grand Manoeuvre was used by the Prussians to take back the majority of the towns. The pessimistic Prussian commander was sure that 6d 6 order Elan play by the French was going to end it, but fortunately the pessimism was hollow, as the French had a few below average results and allowed the Prussians to remain holding on to the majority objective, while claiming one banner on a battle back, and the last remaining banner on the following turn. Clocking in close to three hours, a real grinder with difficult positions for both sides. Both players likely a little punch drunk towards the end.

Thank you for the good game, Todd.

Round 4
Scenario 420 Wavre
toddrew (Allies) 3 Banners won, 25 blocks lost
Bayernkini (French) 8 Banners won, 10 blocks lost

Good cards on french side, including a LGM, which gives at last 3 VP for french,
as the french overrun the Allies left.
