Round 5
Lutzen
Theimann (Prussian) 8 Banners won, 30 blocks lost
Bayernkini (French) 6 Banners won, 38 blocks lost

The Prussians staged a Grand Maneouvre and took Kaja before the French could react, this set the focus of the battle for the rest of the day. The French advanced and were repelled numerous times but the entrenched Prussian position seemed immovable.
Later in the day a daring French cavalry charge on the Prussian center broke through to the Prussian triage and almost broke the spirit of the men. The Prussians stalled and the French commander took this opportunity to advance his leaders and the Guard into the engagement.
In the end the French were too weakened by the days fighting to carry home a victory but they did manage to bring back Blucher's head.

Round 4
416 - Laon Right
Scipio (Prussian) 8 banners, 27 blocks lost
Klopik (French) 4 banners won, 30 blocks lost

Klopik was holding off my attack on the town when my cavalry took over, and holding just 4 cards he could not square up enough to fend them off. (Partial log only due to mid-game computer crash.)

Round 2
Grossbeeren
Scipio (Prussian) 10 banners, 33 blocks lost
Tarheel (French) 8 banners won, 32 blocks lost

Prussia was down 7-2! (after kicking off the game with 0-13 range fire against infantry). I clawed back to 8-5 when France played its second Elan. An LC holding my vital 3rd town hex stood its ground rather than retiring outta there against two infantry attacks and held the town. That gave me +2 flags for my next turn as I played counterattack on the Elan - and killed 3 units with 3 attacks. Net for the turn = +5 VPs and the game.

At the end, every remaining French unit on the board was full strength.

Round 3
Scenario 415 Dennewitz

Scipio( Prussian) 2 banners, 22 blocks lost
Greg O(French) 7 banners, 17 blocks lost

Rough battle for the Prussians. We had terrible lag problems and had to play over two sessions, and the bumpy play made it hard to concentrate I think. French had the right cards and some luck to make aggressive attacks, although somewhat disjointed, but Prussians couldn't counter with enough force to get the banners. Only 5 blocks advantage for the French, but 5 banners as well.

Round 1
Bautzen day 1

French: Tarheel 9 banners 42 blocks lost
Allies: Theimann 8 banners 42 blocks lost

The battle was bloody as hell. A premature FR center attack did kill 2 x PR lt units, but led to disarray in FR lines and heavy damage forcing a retreat. Attacks then focused on the flanks, where stout Russian resistance repulsed the attackers, again with heavy damage both ways. French CAV managed to win out in the CAV duels this day, leaving only a remnant of HC and a LC unit that helped to win the day in the end. French right side attacks were moderately successful, but didnt penetrate far. 2 Elan cards and a counterattacked Elan were played this day. In the end, the PR GG unit penetrated into the shattered FR center at which point banners were 8 to 8. FR CAV charge forced it into square, but it had one last gasp to finish the battle by attacking HC on the edge of battlefield, 33% chance to win the day. An INF roll allowed the nearly destroyed FR to attack with INF remnants to win the day. A hollow victory

I felt this was very balanced, but I also think my opponent outplayed me, but luck went to me narrowly in the end.

Round 4

Laon, Fr Right

French: Tarheel - 8 banners - 18 blocks lost
Allies: Grondeaux - 3 banners - 32 blocks lost

The French look a bit puny at the outset, but have a bit of punch, esp if they get 2 x FS cards, Bay Charge, Leadership, fnh and a Counterattack AND good dice.

Well, battle started with Allied Grand Maneouver to move the rear units on his right forward, cav in position to cause trouble. French counterattacked, and shifted his cav into the woods to react. Allied cav attacks pushing to center ended up getting surprised by a FS which demolished LC immediately. French then attacked on left, and destroyed the CU in one attack from the Guard Light Cav. French CU failed an attack on guns, but when the big guns attacked later, the French again had a FS surprise, but only took out a gun. There was some small amount of allied pushing forward towards center, met by a fire and hold. French took some casualites and lost a whole unit, but ranged attacks weakened allied units. A bayo charge was effective in clearing the path for YG to approach the city on french left. And after some weak units bit it, the final Leadership card allowed FR to move units into city spaces to secure the final 2 banners.

Allies fought bravely in the face of fortune being pissed off at them.

As always, Grondeaux, enjoyed hanging out with you for couple hours!

Round 2
Scenario: 414 GROSSBEEREN (23 AUGUST 1813)
Grondeaux (Prussian) 2 Banners won, 36 blocks lost
bg aka Armadeus (French) 10 Banners won, 22 blocks lost

This wasn't the Sun of Austerlitz but the Sun of Grossbeeren. When the prussians try to advance on their right, i smash their arty with my cav and lancers cav. When their cav came, my infantry doesn't even form square to kill them. When they try to set the ground on fire on their left, i slaughter their militias and rolled back the others. And when they came to take Grossbeeren, i blood them with my linemen before step back and then counterattack with a massive concentration of graphe shots and cannon ball just to support my grenadier that were taking back the lost grounds.

Not a battle, a hollywoodian movie where the apaches were prussians and the "nice" blues were french : i had cards and dices, no comment.

Round 1
BH06 Bautzen (Day 1)

Klopik (French): 9 banners, 12 blocks lost
Grondeaux (Prussian/Russian): 1 banner, 35 blocks lost

After some connection issues, we got down to the game. Both sides started out cautiously, moving troops into position. The Prussians executed a poorly-planned cavalry charge on their left that did little but leave their CUs in an exposed position. Shortly thereafter, a French cavalry charge on their right netted a Prussian CU, a Prussian ART, and Dolfs. The game settled down again to cautious maneuvering into position. The French started the end-game with a bayonet charge, which was countered by an Allied bayonet charge, then another French bayonet charge. When the dust cleared, the French had their nine banners along with possession of Pleifkowitz.

Well and patiently played by Klopik. Grondueax's units were again plagued by wet powder... couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.
Thanks, Petr!
