Hi, can a leader of a different nationality attache to troops not of their nationality
our example was the British leaders were dead and with only a Portuguese Leader left
can he attache to British troops

Yes they can, they're better thought of as Allied commanders in this respect. Many of the Portugese commanders were British and the rest were trained as per the British army.

I don't expect this to be the case when the Spanish are in the mix though....

LEADER FAQs

Dont you think that leaders are too weak.
They only lets player ignore 1 flag and gives some advantages when Leadership card was played.
Otherwise, heating the leader brings additional WB.

I think that every leader has to have some specialisation, for exp. "cavalery leader", "master of defence" and so on, and this will bring more realism.

I don't think they're too weak at all. Every comment to that effect that I've seen has come from somebody who's played loads of CCA and is expecting something different, I've played it twice.

Difference in leadership are perhaps best dealt with as part of the scenario special rules.

On consimworld here Richard Borg says:

So what we have at the moment are generic leaders, but we can expect them to have unique ability's later.
