Add all MT10 results to this thread please.

A trifle unusual, the sides are not consistent, but the Alpha Player always takes the top Army, and the Beta Player the bottom Army. This should be reasonably self explanatory, but ask here if there is any problem. Generally the way the VASSAL module works is the top team uses the Allied Hand, and the bottom team the French Hand.

Special thanks to Michael for preparing a VASSAL update for this MT.
The small vassal module update with the new style AWI scenarios is available

www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Command..._Colors:_Napoleonics

you need the new mainmodule version and the fan extension version :woohoo:

As a guide for reporting, in something like this form

Round x Scenario name
Top team Player (Nation) w banners - zz blocks lost
Bottom team player (Nation) x banners - yy blocks lost

Short match summary

Add the match logfile

Since these are homegrown scenarios with significant special rules, please ask if there is anything unclear and I'll do my best to answer.

Enjoy.

Round 1 DP02 Bunker Hill

Mark McG Americans 7 Banners 35 Blocks Lost
Trout British 8 Banners 42 Blocks Lost

After a brief Bombardment by the ships I got impatient and sent in the troops. We initially got a foothold on the hills then the Americans counterattacked and drove us off. Much back and forth from this point while casualties climbed for both sides. Endgame saw both sides with 7 banners, the British used Grand Maneuver to reach one of the back VP hill hexes and held on for the last banner. The British lost a lot of Blocks. Thanks for the game Mark.

A change of mind in the schedule.
Round 4 will be Camden rather than Cowpens
Camden

the British 1 strength artillery in Cowpens concern me (if they are banners)

Round 5 MM04 Monmouth
Grondeaux: Americans, 7 Banners, 26 Blocks Lost
Tanris: British, 5 Banners, 30 Blocks Lost

After a brief, bloody and inconclusive action on the British left, things slowed down a bit. The British then played a La Grand Maneuver to advance infantry adjacent to the American center. This was bloodily repulsed by the Americans, but the resulting action left both sides battered and out of position. There followed a lull as both sides maneuvered for position. A late-game bayonet charge by the Americans (led by Washington, himself!) got the Americans their sixth banner, and a lucky long-range artillery shot using a Fire & Hold card gave them the final victory.

There were some odd occurrences during this game. The draw deck disappeared on multiple occasions. Troops on the British left/Americans right vanished as well. The draw deck was brought back with a reshuffle, and the missing troops’ position reconstructed from the players’ memory.

Great game, Tanris, and thank you!

likely the disappearing troops are the result of discarding the card.
The draw deck seems unusual.

Round 3 Brandywine Creek
Tony (British) 6 banners - 8 blocks lost
Grondeaux (American) 0 banners - 31 blocks lost

British fainted right and left at first and then used bayonet charge to get GG and GR to the hills between Lt and Center, cleared those out and eliminated units in those areas to win the game. Cards in my hand were great and Grondeaux' rolls didn't help him.

MT51 Round 4 Camden
Tony(American) 7 lost 28 block vs Theimann(British) 5 lost 36 blocks

British began by Harassing and forcing back militia on American Left flank. With Forced March and Cavalry cards.
American Forced March and Cavalry charges stemmed the blood loss and then the American Center came alive with
Cavalry and Infantry Combined Arms attacks with the artillery unit in the center. A close affair!!!

An American victory on the 4th of July

Round 2- Battle of Hubbardton (DP05), July 7, 1777

Trout(American): 3 banners gained, 39 blocks lost
Tanris (British): 7 banners gained, 23 blocks lost

The British under Simon Fraser attacked the small American detachment of Col. Ebenzer Francis, catching them at breakfast. As Fraser's grenadiers and rifleman moved up to Zion Hill and from Sucker Brook respectively, line infantry directly under Fraser's command engaged the Americans, being beaten back and losing many in the process. Gunfire was exchanged back and forth between both sides on all parts of the battlefield. To break this stalemate, Francis had a large group of soldiers charge the British left flank (by playing La Grande Maneouvre) but that charge was beaten back to great effect (British side plays "Give Them the Cold Steel.") There is a bit of back and forth on the American left and center sections of the battle field and the Americans try a few more times to do damage to the British left flank (during which time they attempt a combined arms and making use of their light infantry), but fail to cause any groups to break and run. The battle comes to a close once the Americans see the unit under Col. Francis's direct command disintegrate under musket fire, it is unclear at this point in time whether Francis was wounded or killed in the fray.

I enjoyed the match, Trout, good luck in the rest of your tournament matches!

EDIT: For some reason it is not allowing me to add the log of the match into this post. Until I can get it here directly I uploaded it to Google Drive and made it shareable (I think). If I can get confirmation from anyone on whether they can read through/download the log that will be handy until I can get it up on here.

:( Shoot, I can't believe I missed that rule. I hope it didn't affect the outcome too much, I'll be sure to be more mindful of the various units' extra rules in later games. Thanks for the reminder, Mark.
