Congratulations to Andrey on a very well-played round!

I made too many bone-headed decisions in game 1 and he capitalized on them perfectly. Really kicked myself for letting the COS walk right by me without a single shot and then exit on the baseline. Also never really had the center cards to make a dent. If I am counting right I got 7 hits on 65 dice (including LCs).

Second game I had the perfect combo of cards to sweep to the baseline and then exit, but his cavalry ran just enough interference to thwart my plans. Had really hoped that he was short on cards in that section, but it wasn't meant to be.

Looking forward to the next one!

Game 1

Gotigerssc (French) - 1
Gileforn (Russia) - 7

That was a very hard battle. It was my "home" scenario and it really helped, also fighting at Russian side. French troops started to shoot at Borodino village by cannons and three there attacks by two artillerry units brought nothing. Russian light troops captured forest on the Russian Left flank throwing back French light unit from the hills. The main assault int he first part of the game was on the Russian right flank, were cavalry tried to get to the baseline. As a result Cossaks brought the banner leaving the battlfield. Awfully, Justin forgot about this moment in scenario and didn't attack cossaks when could. Then there were some activities on the French left and cavalry forces were pushed back. Cavalry charge played by Justin helped to the Heavy cavalry to destroy Russian arty near Borodino with one attack. But then was a force march, that was sitting in a hand till this time, and next turn Bayonette Charge. Heavy cavalry was surround and destroyed with a leader. The final point was made by Guard light troops destoyed a Line infantry. There were a lot of shooting from the French side but mainly without any result. Too much dice rolls were missed one. So luck was not on the French side this turn. Anyway that was a good battle and big thanks to Justin for it!

Game 2

Gotigerssc (Russia) - 2
Gileforn (French) - 2 (5)

The second game was really hard for Justin because he need to get banners with minimum loss and he had this chance. Cavalry advance tactic was a good one. French cavalry tried to make a mess with charge attack against Russian cavalry, but also +1 tactic card didn't helped to the heavy cavalry (7 dice - only inf and art). The fight on the French left was brutal. Two cossacks reached the baseline, but Light Cavalry destroyed one of them and pushed back the other one. After this situation was became better for the French. Also we forgot about the Mother Russia roll and very good that remebered before it can matter for anything. As a result of different attacks light and heavy cavalry were destroyed and Justin have taken a decision to end the game.

My big thanks to Justin for very good games and congrats for the silver!
