Q1 if a Feigned Retreat roll does NOT roll a Swords, what is the Crusader cavalry allowed to do?
Is it treated as
1. A retreat, in which case the Crusader cavalry could momentum advance and battle
or
2. An evasion, in which case the Crusader cavalry could NOT momentum advance and battle

RB - If a Feigned Retreat roll does NOT roll a Swords, the attacking Crusader unit’s action is similar to evade procedure in that case. The attacking unit may not occupy the Feigned Retreat unit’s original hex.

Q2 For Fighting March and Line Command, should the Inspire Action be
1. equivalent to the Line Command card, ordering as many units as can be connected to the leader in a chain, or
2. limited to the 3-4 hexes allowed by the Inspired Leadership Command card?

RB - Fighting March and Line Command as the Inspire Action reads: A leader is ordered along with a group of units that are in adjacent linked contiguous hexes, to the ordered leader. Because the Inspire Action states that the group may span two or three sections would indicate that the Inspire Action is not limited to 3-4 hexes of units.

Q3 Fighting March and Line Command are identical in text, this is thematic and intended?

RB - The text for Fighting March and Line Command is identical and is correct. The term Fighting March is truly thematic and historical…

Q4. scenario Montgisard on the crusader left, there is an LBC.. should this be a TLBC?

RB - Montgisard was playtested early on and at that time we only originally had a couple of Turcopole Light Bow Cavalry units scheduled for the game. That of course changed and there are now enough blocks for three Turcopole Light Bow Cavalry units. So replacing the Crusader Light Cavalry unit in the Montgisard scenario with a Turcopole Light Bow Cavalry unit would indeed be more historical.

Q5 Can a cavalry ordered by Move-Fire-Move interpenetrate on both moves?

RB - Because the rule states “on the cavalry unit’s first hex of movement, move through one adjacent friendly foot unit’s hex” the second move of a unit’s Move-Fire-Move may not be used to interpenetrate again.

Q6: Could the friendly foot unit have already moved that turn to a hex adjacent to the ordered cavalry unit before it makes its interpenetration move?

RB - Because the rule states “Even if ordered, the foot unit that was moved through may not move or battle this turn.” so basically a foot unit may not move before it is interpenetrate or move after the foot unit is was interpenetrate.

A more general question of interest, have you any insight into whether the 3rd, 5th, 6th & 7th Crusade scenarios will be published? Or anything on what the next Medieval expansion might be?

RB - We are always having fun and playtesting scenarios for other Medieval time frames including more Crusade scenarios.
Sadly nothing on the near horizon right now…
