Six brand-new, meticulously researched scenarios designed by Joe Bisio.
Transporting players to the fierce and iconic conflicts of the Crusades in the 12th century, these battles have been fully adapted for the standard 13-by-11 Commands & Colors: Medieval game board.
Here is a quick look at the six new scenarios now available to play:
JB01 Arsuf - September 7th, 1191 AD: King Richard the ‘Lionheart’ squares off against the Sultan Saladin. This scenario forces the Crusader player to manage Richard's strict marching battleplan while defending a massive, slow-moving baggage train from relentless Ayyubid skirmishers.
JB02 Azaz - June 13th, 1125 AD: King Baldwin II of Jerusalem faces the massive Seljuk army of Al-Bursuqi. The Seljuk forces must carefully manage their arrow supplies to avoid running empty, while the Crusaders rely heavily on crucial Armenian allied infantry and light cavalry to hold the line.
JB03 Aintab - August 1150 AD: A tense escort and survival mission where King Baldwin III must protect a vulnerable refugee column and evacuate the remaining Latin Christians from the fallen County of Edessa. The Oghuz Turks, led by Nur ad-Din, will relentlessly test the Crusaders' strict march discipline.
JB04 Jaffa - August 1st, 1192 AD (The Relief of Jaffa) and JB05 Jaffa - August 5th, 1192 AD (Saladin's Counterattack): This massive two-part scenario pack covers the desperate fighting in and around the port city of Jaffa. The scenarios feature complex urban terrain like the Jaffa Citadel and rubble-filled wall gaps. Players will utilize dismounted cavalry , manage unruly Sudanese infantry , and attempt to rally unmotivated Genoese sailors to the defense of the city.
JB06 Shaizar - 1111 AD: A unique "running skirmish" scenario. King Baldwin I and Tancred attempt to advance through the harassing fire of Mawdud's Seljuk Turks. Special combat restrictions brilliantly simulate the reluctance of both sides to engage in a full-scale pitched melee, prioritizing hit-and-run tactics instead.
