Round 1
Mark McG (Goth)  5 banners won, 34 blocks lost
Rams (Byzantine) 6 banners won, 25 blocks lost

The Goth plan was to go hard up the middle with the Warriors into the Byzantine foot. Unfortunately the cards misunderstood that plan, and instead gave flank cards only.
Rams started on the Byz left, but was driven back, then a slow, weeding out some dud cards (Order Heavy Units twice), whilst the Goths (and player) realised that they needed a refresh on how Medieval is different to Ancients in many, many ways.

Things staarted rolling for the Goths with a Centre Leadership card, which Foot Onslaughted to the Left to try and use the existing Command cards on the left. This was the moment Rams had waited for, with a Cavalry carge in response, and some dice warming saw 2 Medium foot eliminated, but some hits on the cavalry as well. The Goth counterattack was poor, and the resulting cavalry struggle saw most of the cavalry reduced for the Byzantines, and eliminated for the Goths. At 4-5 down, the final Goth cavalry block conducted a cavalry charge against a pair of single block Byzantine MC. The first got a hit on 4d, and the second failed, even using battle bonus. The Byzantines were not so unfortunate, eliminating the Goth cavalry.

I realised today it has been a year since I last played C&C Medieval, and I desperately needed a refresher of the rule differences.
This seems like a start

Round 5
mk20336 (Goth)  6 banners won, 6 blocks lost
Nick P (Byzantine) 1 banner won, 24 blocks lost

A very bloody battle for Romans; initially both forces were repositioning - Goths in center, Romans on wings. Then the feared Mounted charge by Super Heavy Cavalry came, which Goth managed to spoil and survive. And then tempo changed when it was Goths who charged against infantry.

A lot of crazy rolls, very hot dice for Goths and unstoppable advance to the final victory. Thanks to Nick for flexibly arranging our game.

Battle started with the cavalry clash on the Goth left, with the Goths coming off much worse, with two MC destroyed and a leader fled (0-2). The Gothic infantry on that flank decided it was easier to escape the Byzantine cavalry by foot onslaught towards the Roman infantry in the centre, which was followed by a second onslaught, destroying the Roman centre and killing Principius under the walls (5-2). The victorious  Byzantine right flank cavalry attacked the disordered flank of the Goth attack to great effect (5-5), but the Goths were able to destroy Belisarius' cavalry (6-5) to save the day in a desperately close battle. Thanks to Alex for a great game that could have gone either way!

Round 5 - GI02 - Battle of Taginae 552 AD
EZPickens (Goth)  4 banners won, 26 blocks lost
Dan (Byzantine) 6 banners won, 28 blocks lost

Goths open with an MC attack on the right. Byz withstands and counters with a Mounted Charge with leader John for the first banner. Goth Counter Attacks with cav in the center and picks up 3 banners in one turn! Byz recoups with a Clash of Shields and a First Strike in the center to tie the game at 3 banners each. The Goths attack again on the right, but once again John holds and kills a warrior unit for 1 more banner. The Goth MC holds against John and his 5 dice attack but eventually succumbs to yet another attack. The Byz lead 5-4. It is not over yet. The Goths form up a big HC attack in the center, but Byz Dagisteus survives 2 HC attacks and kills Toula's HC for the victory, 6 banners to 4.

I'd say a bit of the dice luck was on the Byz side. However neither side seemed to want for cards or units. It felt to me like two heavy weight fighters slugging hard. No light units were destroyed for banners, nothing but mediums and heavies. Great game and good strategy from EZPickens.

ROUND 1
EZPickens (Goth)  1 banners won, 24 blocks lost
John of York (Byzantine) 6 banners won, 10 blocks lost

I had some success early with ranged fire. I advanced on my left and the Goths pushed in the center. With MOUNTED CHARGE, I killed the AI in the camp on the Goth right and advanced into it. I also killed off a weak MI on the Goth left.  The Goths hit my center infantry line with Warriors with little damage done due to very poor rolls. My hero LB with no evade possible held on a lot longer than it should have but finally fell.  After I scored the banner for the camp on the Goth right, I used MOUNTED CHARGE again in the center and took out a weal WI. A turn later I shifted my MC from my left into the center and eliminated two 2 block units. John's Goths really had horrid rolls.
