Round 3 Scenario 110 Harran

Seljuo Turks (EZPickins)  6 banners 9 blocks lost
Crusaders (rivonline) 2 banners 27 blocks lost

A really quick game. I played an effective Cavalry Charge to start. Renaud played First Strike but it failed to do much damage. He counter attacked on his turn and I subsequently killed my two heavy cavalry. But that left him vulnerable and I surrounded and killed an HKC and Jocelin. After some solid ranged fire I played Cry Havoc and ended the game.
I had a lot of good rolls while Renaud did not. Thanks for a fun game.

111 3rd Ramla - 27 August 1105 [MT06-Crusaders Mini Tournament - Round Four]
Crusaders(TTC) 4 vs Fatimids(A) 7
29 block loss vs 32

Treb's crusaders avoided being flanked first, then pushed really hard in the center. A timely Leaders card with some lucky rolls enabled the battered Fatimids to turn the tide. The Crusader infantry charged ahead with the Holy Relic in front and managed to destroy a medium foot. But it was all over when the Christian Heavies with their leader fell while trying to capture Sena al-Mulk and his retinue.

Treb is a skillful opponent. With a bit more luck, he could have cut through the Fatimid center.

I watched the 2nd log, and the final Crusader attack rolled 2 Swords on a 2 block Heavy Cavalry from a Heavy Infantry. I couldn't tell how the Heavy Cavalry ignored 1 Sword to battle back and take the game.
As a reminder, Cavalry stature is no longer applicable in Crusade scenarios

Quick update, Ram has withdrawn from the Euro Division tournament.

Considering how to handle the scoring for the unplayed matches, and my current thought is to use the average of the Saracen scores for that Round (so the average of the Sarcen banner scores from all 3 Divisions).  Not sure what other options would be suitable given the fairly unbalanced results for Rounds 4 & 5 in particular.

That is a pity. Probably an average result (either from all the groups or only our, EURO group) will be the way to tackle this. Mark, you can try couple of approaches and see if this weights on the tournament results (I do not think it will have huge impact looking at the results in EURO table).

Round 3 (Euro Division)

Javelinthrower (Turks)  6 banners won, 24 blocks lost

soul1st (Crusader) 5 banners won, 21 blocks lost

The Turks had a good opening with Line Command and strong center-right position. Shooting was lucky and Crusader cavalry was wiped out there. But then Crusaders managed to play their cards right (literally and figuratively) and a series of charges on their right flank turned the game and almost brought victory. Turks were not prepared to face HKC in close combat, they overestimated the usefulness of rivers for defence and then also didn't have enough space to effectively retreat all the vulnerble units. A very close game.

Looks like this can be important for one player, so maybe this game will be fare to play with somebody else except Rams.

with any luck, the other matches will make the missing matches moot in the Euro tournament.

Division 3 is harder..

Round 2 (Euro Division): 2nd Ramla

Javelinthrower (Fatimid)  6 banners won, 18 blocks lost
Viridovilas (Crusader) 3 banners won, 19 blocks lostIt was  a straightforward battle. Crusaders charged as usual but were repulsed by the overwhelming Fatimid army. This time it was impossible to change history….

Just a rule question. I can't remember: when you count block losses, leaders are considered as one loss, right?
