Can a unit be Portal'd after being ordered by a command card? (C/Q) 2007-01-03 05:21:42

Q: Can you order a unit with a command card then send it through the Greater Portal so that it can enjoy the benefits of, say, a Mounted Charge?

A: No, it cannot. Portal'd units cannot benefit from a Command card (such as Mounted Charge) bonus. Per the rules p. 13, you may only give one order to each unit during the course of a single game turn. The units portaled that are yours are ordered by the Greater Portal card, and cannot also be ordered again this same turn by the Mounted Charge you play.

Can this spell be combined with “Battlelore”? (C/Q) 2007-01-26 19:50:27

Q: Does a unit ordered with greater portal get +1 dice if Greater Portal is played alongside the Battlelore command card?

A: No, because this unit was ordered by the Greater Portal card, not by the BattleLore command card.

Are units activated (ordered) by “Greater Portal”? (C/Q) 2007-04-16 10:45:34

Q: Are the portal’d units activated?

A: Yes, portal’d units are activated.

May “normally” ordered units be moved after “Greater Portal”?(C/Q) 2007-04-16 10:49:44

Q: The text on "Greater Portal" mentions: "If either or both of these units are yours, they are ordered but may not move after landing."
Does that mean that there is no movement phase for all units, or can I movce additional units that are activated with my command card?

A: Only the two units portaled via "Greater Portal" cannot move during the turn. All units activated with the command card can move as normal.
After this all units can battle and make possible follow-on moves.

Does this spell affect 4 units or just 2? (C/Q) 2007-12-24 21:24:24

Clarification: Do the two ordered units are the two exchanging positions or are they 4 in total?

A: You can exactly exchange a total of 2 units, NOT 4.

May "Greater Portal” be played alongside a “Foot Onslaught”? (C/Q) 2008-04-27 05:13:53

Q: Can Greater Portal be played alongside Foot Onslaught in order to switch a non-foot unit with a foot unit in such a manner as to be a link in a chain of foot units which are then ordered by Foot Onslaught?
And if so, must that recently portaled unit be also ordered by the command card (and also, then be allowed to move)?

A: Yes, you can portal an idea to fill the hole (or replace the "break" in the chain with a foot unit). That portaled unit won't be able to move, but all the other units that are now part of the foot chain will be able to do their Foot Onslaught. ;-)

Do the units ordered by “Greater Portal” count against the activation limit of the command card played alongside? (C/Q) 2008-05-13 17:09:39

Q: Do the two units count against the units ordered by the command card or are they ordered additionally?

A: This card is played alongside your Command card. If you plan to use this card to move some units of yours, these units of yours will be ordered WITHOUT requiring a separate order from the Command card just played.
