Can units without a Bonus Strike benefit from “Berserk”? (FAQ) 2006-12-12 00:03:33

A unit who does not normally benefit from a Bonus Strike (for instance, a unit equipped with a Common Bow) gets no re-roll benefit from going Berserk. It still gets the +1 d/level in Melee though.
For the case of a Short Sword infantry attacking a cavalry, and rolling 2 bonus strikes, 1 would be ignored, the other would score a hit and be re-rolled. If a Bonus Strike is obtained on the re-roll, it applies, causing the cavalry to lose a second figure.

Are re-rolls done before the application of retreat flags? (C/Q) 2007-03-29 05:42:10

Q: Which occurs first: The reroll for additional effects on the bonus strikes, or retreats from flags?

A: The reroll for additional effects on bonus strikes. If flags are obtained on the reroll they are added to any flag obtained in the original roll, and all applied together once reroll is done.

Can Lore symbols in a re-roll be used as usual? (C/Q) 2007-04-15 03:00:36

Q: If I re-roll a Bonus Strike and get a Lore symbol, can I collect a Lore Token? Also, if I Berserked my Spider, can I use the Lore symbol I got on the re-roll to use a creature ability or power up the creature?

A: Yes, the dice are re-rolled for "possible additional effects". This includes Lore, so any Lore obtained on the re-roll gives you a Lore token. And that Lore token may be immediately used by your Creature.

Can a Hill Giant benefit from “Berserk”?(C/Q) 2007-07-05 12:54:46

Q: Does Berserk affect the Hill Giant in any way other than to add attack dice to the initial roll?

A: No. All Berserk does for the Hill Giant is allow him to roll 1 more attack dice. But since he already re-rolls bonus strikes in Melee thanks to his Hammer, he doesn't receive the re-roll benefit other units would get from the Berserk.

Can I use “Berserk” to score additional hits against a creature? (C/Q) 2007-07-10 07:49:55

Q: If I play Berserk on a unit and send it after a creature, what happens if I roll Bonus Strikes in any of the rolls? If I roll a banner hit and two Bonus Strikes, for example, do I reroll the Bonus Strikes to see whether I roll additional hits, and therefore additional chances to roll a Critical Hit? If I roll a Bonus Strike during the Critical Hit phase, do I reroll the die, thus giving me an additional chance to roll a banner hit?
This situation came up in an Epic game with Leadership and Berserk being played on a heavy unit, and the two sides couldn't agree on how to interpret the Berserk affect. Luckily, I didn't roll Bonus Strikes on either roll (yet killed the creature!) so no one got bent out of shape. An official answer would be better, of course!

A: If your unit is equipped with a weapon that hits on Bonus Strikes, you would: Apply all hits caused by the Bonus Strike, and re-roll these dice once for additional effect (direct hits, hits from bonus strike, Lore or Flag effect). Once these re-rolls are done, you would then roll as many dice as there were hits scored against the Creature to check whether a Critical Hit was obtained or not.
Note that Berserk only applies during the battle phase, though, not during the Critical hit rolls (so any bonus strikes rolled during the Critical Hit check would have no effect whatsoever and would not be rerolled).

Does a Level 1 Warrior get any bonus dice? (C/Q) 2008-02-04 00:25:31

Q: So if you only have a level one warrior you don't get any extra dice right?

A: A level 1 warrior gets +1d, since it is +1d per level.

Does this card have the same effect as the Hill Giant's Hammer? (C/Q) 2008-04-17 06:33:36

Q: If a bonus strike is rolled on the re-roll, is that then re-rolled again?

A: No, because the card says "and are also re-rolled ONCE for possible additional effects."
