Played this today using the Variant CCN rules. Union lost 6-3, but the game came down to Hood with a 1 strength Infantry repulsing the Rallied Union infantry on the steps of New Hope Church. If I could have rolled 2 hits on 5 dice, the Union would be in Church and sitting on a win.
Entrenchments are hard to crack. Flanking is the only option.
