Historical Background
King Shulgi was a strong ruler of the city of Ur, he carried out a number of reforms, strengthened the kingdom. Shulgi completes the reorganization of the army begun by the King of Ur-Nammu. Like Sargon of Akkad at the time, he relies on lightly armed archers instead of heavily armed infantry. At this time, apparently, a mercenary army appeared in Sumer. The inherited state was small, it occupied the southern and central part of Mesopotamia. Shulgi, at the head of his reorganized army, began conquests. He manages to subdue the territories from the "Lower Sea" to the "Upper Sea", i.e. from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea. Thus, he repeats the successes of Sargon of Akkad and Naram-Sin. In 2068 BC, Shulga's army invades the kingdom of Simurrum, bordering Sumer in the north. He defeats the army of Simurrum and captures its ruler, Tabban-darah.
The scenario shows what the battle between the army of Ur and the army of Simurrum could look like.
