Theban Hvy group got into action guick and eliminated Spartan MH units. Thebans also quickly eliminated the Spartan cavalry. Theban win 5-3.

That was one-sided battle. Really hard to win as Thebans and it was reflected here:

Played twice with my usual opponent, Thebes wiped out the Spartan right 4-1 in the first match, second match was closer but 4-3 Thebes. Thought I had posted a more detailed write up on this last week when we played, but it seems to have not been saved. Basically despite losing the Sacred Band twice, the Theban heavy foot did the business while the cavalry skirmished.

Our group played this scenario 4 times, resulting in 3 wins for Thebes. In all three, there was initial skirmishing between the cavalry until the heavy infantry made contact with the Spartan hoplites, slicing through them like a knife through butter. The results were 7-2, 7-2 and 7-3. In the 4th game, the Cleombrotos' hoplites gained the upper hand to win 7-4. This an exciting battle.

Sorry, the scores in the previous post should have been 5-2, 5-2, 5-3 and 5-4. The comments are however still applicable.
