Marco: Sertorian - 6
Gileforn: Roman - 3

The game started with the Romans Line Advancing ahead, but the Sertorians answered with a Darken the Sky which proved devastating, reducing two MI's to single block units  and also damaging a Warrior. The Romans then advanced with Warriors on the right, destroying an LI and heavily damaging Herennius' Militia unit. Battle continued on the right, with the Sertorians losing another Light to Warriors on a Sparticus command. Battle moved to the center on another Roman Line Advance, with the Sertorians also using a Sparticus command to bring their heavy units to bear. A Clash of Shields by the Romans was thwarted by a First strike, and the ensuing Line Advance by the Sertorians destroyed an MI and a Warrior. The score was now 3-2 for the Sertorians. More battle on the right, as the Romans tried some risky attacks with heavily damaged MED units which cost them both units in battle back attacks. The Roman leader also fell in a single die Leader check, closing the game at 6-3 Sertorians. Ultimately it was the opening Roman Line Advance, followed by the excellent (read: lucky) Darken the Sky by the Sertorians which set the course of battle for this game.

Match 1
Bangla (Sertorian) 6 banners
Dawnreader (Roman) 3 banners

Sertorians advanced most of the troops with line command. Romans attacked in the center with Warrior and Medium infantry and sertorians hit back hard with Heavies destroying a Warrior and reducing MI to one block. Romans advancing with line command all Mediums - sertorians LIs evading and one HI is lost. Last heavy with Sertorius itself attacks and now romans have 3 units down to single block. Roman Warrior trying to kill one block HI with Sertorius and failing miserably no hits in 2 attacks with 6 dices and ... died from a battle-back attack. These unlucky rolls influenced heavily on the future course of the game. Sertorius with a single block HI and two LIs attacked and killed 3 roman MIs which were all down to one block previously. 5 - 1 in favor of Sertorius. Then it was a long hunt - sertorians tried to kill  2 lights on the roman right (bow and slings). Romans double-timed in the center and killed one Auxilia and one LS. But the next attack destroyed the last needed MI of romans. 6 - 3. Sertorius proved himself as a battle-hardened general - with his HI bagged 4 banners delivering final blows.

Match 2
Bangla (Roman) 1 banner
Dawnreader (Sertorian) 6 banners

Initially, both sides were firing with no luck. Then sertorians advanced with line command. Romans counterattacked with the same command, sertorians LIs evaded. Sertorius going forward with heavies - one roman MI is dead and second down to 2 blocks, but one of HI is down to a single block as well. Romans command to medium troops - two Warriors and 2 MIs. Warrior rolls against Sertorius - no hits! Battle back and this is a kill! Second Warrior killed one block HI. Bonus attack and two banners - Sertorius retreated safely evading two romans MIs. Sertorius attacks against full MI and this is a kill, then advance and bonus attack against 2-block MI and one more went down. 4 - 1. Romans gathering their lights from flanks towards the center. Sertorius attacks 3-block Warrior and yes, this is a kill. Then was some maneuvering. Sertorians pushed on their left against romans LIs trying to get the last banner. And yes, Sertorius advanced and took out the last needed banner - 3-block MI. Once again Sertorius in his full glory and this time he brought all 6 banners with some help from others.

Match 1

Twan (soul1st) (Sertorian): 6 Banners

Tony (atony77) (Roman): 0 Banners

The Romans attacked the Sertorian center, but a lot of light infantry cards (including Darken the Sky), softened them up. The Sertorian side had enough luck with the cards and the dice to  crush the Romans.

Match 2

The points go to Tony because I am unable to to play the second match before the deadline.

Many thanks to Tony for an entertaining match.

Logfile from first game against Stanislav27.
Polonus100 (Sertorians) - 6
Stanislav27 (Romans) - 1

All according to the planes. Light forces weakened Romans, who were to attack. Too bravely, because have broken its own line in advance. Double Time in answer activated two Heavies with Sertorius with L and A. Roman center and after that right wing collapsed.

GAME 1

mk20336 (Rome): 5 Banners
Greg O (Sertorian): 6 Banners

That one saw a quick lead from the Sertorian forces (attacking warriors were quickly dispatched) and incredible chase from Roman side - the accuracy of Bowmen and Slingers was incredible. In the end, when I though it might in the end turn to Rome side Greg attacked and got the last point. Very exciting game!

GAME 2

mk20336 (Sertorian): 6 Banners
Greg O (Rome): 3 Banners

A different game than the first one. I definitely had worse archers as I was loosing badly the range combat contest. And then both sides clashed with Romans again giving way to what seemed inferior rebel forces. The game disintegrated into the couple of separate, isolated skirmishes in which the Sertorian cavalry charge finished the game.

Quite similar to to my duel with Stanislav. After that Stanislav , me and Greg would have the same amount of points and Greg could be my next opponent. Especially first game was similar in Fortune's wheel turn.

Game 1
Cavie  (Rome) - 6 banners
Alister (Setorian) - 3 banners

A lot of movement to the middle and firing from each side for 3/4's of the game.  Finally a Double Time was played to send the game into a frenzy.  Two more double times (one counter attack) followed to send the game to it's ending.

In both games, my dice and especially cards were vastly superior.  Despite these disadvantages, Gonzo played both matches very well, and was on the verge of turning the tide in both.

Game 1 - After a back and forth beginning, I feared I was doomed when I lost Sertorius to go down 3-2.  Fortunately my cards allowed me to both keep the pressure on and counterpunch when the Mediums were brought up into the fight.

Sertorian - Travis - 6
Roman - Gonzo - 4

Game 2 - An amazing hand of cards allowed me as the Romans to put pressure on the Sertorian lines, prioritize knocking out the Heavies, and then keep pushing the remaining light infantry units back to the map's edge.

Sertorian - Gonzo - 3
Roman - Travis - 6
