Module should be corrected. In Vassal setup is one HC with Hasdrubal instead of H. Or not?

that is correct.. the unit under Hasdrubal is a Heavy Infantry, not cavalry
both VASSAL setup and the image on the fan website are wrong. Use the original scenario book setup.

Corrected game save file

Game 1
Bangla (Rome) 6 Banners
Tomek (Carthage) 4 Banners

A very cagey battle, almost 2 hours altogether.  The Romans pushed on the right and eventually cleared the Carthaginians from that flank.  The pressure took its toll and forced the Carthaginians to make a desperate attack (Double Time) on their right to try and snatch the battle before it was totally lost.  The Romans only just held, and eventually chased the last Carthaginian left flank light unit off the battlefield for the win.  The Romans were on top for most of the action, but they were severely weakened and the final big Carthaginian attack almost succeeded.

Game 2
Tomek (Rome) 6 Banners
Bangla (Carthage) 5 Banners

A completely different battle that lasted only 30 minutes.  Rome pushed forward with the right wing cavalry, charged, and almost succeeded in eliminating much of the Carthaginian left flank.  They hung on, just, and hit back killing one cavalry unit.  More action on that flank, the centres and the other flank were motionless throughout, and Carthage were quickly up 3-2.  Then Laelius got to work and killed two units and chased Bostar off the map for good measure.  5-3 Rome and things looked bleak.  But a 1-block Auxilia attacked Laelius, finished off the Legionaries and put Laelius to the sword for good measure.  5-5 and the tie was over, but Roman LI then eliminated the heroic Auxilia for the tactical win.

Two excellent games with Tomek, very different from each other.  Add to these the two very close Round 5 battles we fought and the aggregate score couldn't have been much closer ... 24-23.  But it was the 11-10 from these two battles that barely separated us.

Game 1
Stanislav (Rome) 6 Banners
Gileforn (Carthage) 2 Banners

A bit of a chaotic battle with my Romands being a bit unfocused and doing a little advancing here, there and everywhere. Gileforn's Carthaginians mostly disciplined and focus on ranged fire. The bulk of the action took place on the Carthaginian left, where the Romans pressed hard, involving both infantry and cavalry. The Roman pressure was too strong in the end, although many Roman units end up being weakened and barely maintaining cohesion (aided by VERY helpful dice whereby my units survived attacks they simply should not have done). Carthage attempts some counterplay on both flanks, but the dice let them down. The final two Carthaginian units to fall are the Heavy Infantry of Hasdrubal and the accompanying Medium Infantry.

Game 2
Gileforn (Rome) 6 Banners
Stanislav (Carthage) 5 Banners

A much more structured confrontation as Gileforn's Romans advanced methodically with a couple of Line Commands and plenty of Light Infantry cover. The Romans employ their Medium Cavalry to great effect, causing panic on the Carthaginian left. I made a huge blunder by failing to provide support to a Light Infantry unit on the baseline, which was swiftly destroyed by a Roman Mounted Charge. Again, however, Gileforn's die rolls often meant that what should have been devastating attacks sometimes allowed me to battle back and stay alive a bit longer. A long battle, with plenty of missile fire from both sides, cavalry skirmishing and cautious maneuvers reaches its climax on the Roman right. The Carthaginians manage to destroy two units of Medium Infantry, two units of Medium Cavalry and one unit of Heavy Infantry. However, Rome's Laelius just about kept his Medium Infantry unit together in the face of a Darkened Sky. With his one-block unit, Laelius destroyed Bostar's one-block Auxilia and decaptiated Bostar himself. If Bostar had not fallen, surely Laelius would have dispatched Hasdrubal's one-block Medium Infantry instead. So drained were the Carthaginian forces in the centre and left.

---

Thanks to Andrey for two excellent battles. It was very tiny margins that decided it in the end. I definitely thought I would lose both battle on multiple occasions.

P.S. the log file from the first game somehow got corrupted. So I have uploaded the final game state as a .vsav. The second logfile seems to work.

Match 1
Spleen1980 (Rome): 2 Banners

Polonus100 (Carthage): 6 Banners

Great Slingers accuracy and two great Cavalry charges on the Right gave victory to Carthage. Both sides tried to engage on their stronger sections (both Right), but Roman MC attack was fatal for Equites and light Carthage forces have cut  off retreat line of it.

Match 2

Polonus100 (Rome): 6 Banners

Spleen1980 (Carthage): 5 Banners

More even affair. Despite disastrous death of Lelius at the beginning of the battle Romans advanced constantly on th Right and soon outflanked enemy. Brave cavalry charge under Masinissa command gave Romans result 5-3, but Carthage counterattacked wearied Roman ranks. Finally Triarii reserves  action gave victory to Rome. Thanks to Alessio for good battle. Especially when result of QF was already decided.

Hi Guys,
sorry for keeping you waiting.

We just played first game with Mark, will be continuing on Thursday:

Match 1
Mark (Rome): 5 Banners, 32 blocks lost
Michal (Carthage): 6 Banners, 25 blocks lost

A very close and long game with initial good position and decent range rolls by Romans. It all started to turn with timely Firs Strike of Carthage. The end of the game was a real thriller, with 5-3 lead for Romans and final Punic victory 6-5. very close game.

It seems after seeing logfile, that Mark didn't use second die in ranged attack by LC against HC in 2-nd Roman turn. Check it please. It could change the result because HC has only one block left after that turn.

Hm, I checked logfile and in Round 2 all was correct. I am sure that in the heat of battle we both committed some errors - that unfortunately happens and usually evens out. Still, that never invalidated any result in our tournaments so we will progress with it as it is I think.
