Hi, a suggestion for huge maps with 8 cm hexagones for the units :

HI : 1X5 figs, 3X4 figs (The 1X5 is the last to remain on the mapboard) : 17 figs

MI : 4X4 : 16 figs

W : 1X4, 3X3 (The 1X4 is the first removed to symbolize the warriors capacity) : 13 figs

A : 4X3 (with spearmen to distinguish them from the warriors) : 12 figs

LI : 4X2 (with spearmen) : 8 figs

LB : 4X2 (with bowmen) : 8 figs

LS : 4X2 (with slingers) : 8 figs

HC : 1X4, 2X3 (The 1X4 is the last to remain on the mapboard) : 10 figs

MC : 3X3 : 9 figs

LC : 3X2 : 6 figs

BC : 3X2 (with bowmen-riders if possible) : 6 figs

E : 2X1 : 2 figs

CH : 1 for all types with markers (or 2 for Heavy/Light) : 1 or 2 figs

WM : 2X1 : 2 figs

Thanks for your proposal or suggestions about the configuration of the units ...

Hi everyone !
In fact, painting a lot of figurines will take a long time...
So, we decided with my friend Pascal to make more light units : One figurine for one block.
As I'm a rookie on painting, I take lessons with Pascal who has quite finished to paint the units used in the 1st scenario of the basic box.
For myself, I had already painted (with his help) :
4 bowmen
4 slingers
both from the Hät set of Imperial Roman Auxiliaries
And alone :
8 auxiliaries from the Hät set of Nubian Infantry (to make Carthaginian units)
To recognize the kind of these units, shields are green painted. And the piece of tissue that they're wearing is white.
We will shortly put pictures of the figurines on the forum (Pascal has done a great job with Roman troops).

Hi, we can't wait to see your works!
I could even set-up a "miniature gallery" for everyone to post his own work, and let other user rate them.
Let me know if you'd like this idea.

Hello Everybody,

For completing what Hawkmoon said, and after some tests, here is the system I choosed to customize my game with plastic 1/72 miniatures :

1 - terrain

the map is made with drawned hexagones of 70mm width.. the entire map of 13 x 9 hexs is about 91 x 56 cm, small enough to be easily installed on any table.

2 - units

as 2 bases of 35mm can fit in each hex, the organisation of units is :

- infantry : 4 bases (35 x 17,5mm) with 2 figures each (total of 8 figures)

- cavalry : 2 bases (35 x 17,5mm) with 1 figure each (idem as for leaders) + 1 base (35 x 35mm) with 2 figures ( this base is the last to be removed for a better visual effect).

- chariots : 2 bases (35 x 53mm) with 1 model each (idem for elephants and war machines). if models are too big, just one base can be used with marker for first loss.

visual effect of units on the map :

With this system, if you have not enough figurines for big scenarios, or to play Epic games on standard boards (hexs 55mm), you can use smaller units (1 base cavalry and 2 bases infantry) + markers for counting of loss :

Good painting..:)

Best regards, pascal
