Eumenes begins by advancing some of his heavy infantry units in the centre to fill in some gaps in the line. Antigonus sends his left flank cavalry forward and unsuccessfully fires at Eumene's elephants. Eumenes counter attacks and forces the cavalry back. A second cavalry charge destroys Eumenes's elephants.
Eumenes again attacks on his right to try and remove Antigonus's cavalry. Eumenes's next attack is with his left flank cavalry, which Antigonus manages to push back. Antigonus then launches a cavalry attack on both flanks, which causes some damage but fails to destroy any units.
Antigonus then launches a mounted charge on both flanks, but a first strike from Eumenes's medium cavalry kills Antigonus's right flank leader. Antigonus's left flank leader's cavalry is destroyed but the leader manages to escape. A light cavalry unit of Antigonus is wiped out in the following skirmish.
Antigonus then follows with yet another cavalry attack on the right flank - however this attack leads to him losing his elephant troops. One of Eumenes's medium cavalry is eliminated in the attack. Eumenes follows up with an attack by his heavy infantry, which kills a medium cavalry. Antigonus's remaining leader on the right flank takes the opportunity to shield his weakened unit to the rear of his army.
With one banner required for victory, Eumenes attacks a heavy cavalry unit on his left flank, but only succeeds in forcing it to retreat. Antigonus the advances his line. A few skirmishes in the centre result in casualties but no unit losses. Eumenes sends his heavy infantry leader in the centre to meet Antigonus's heavy infantry leader. Some heavy fighting sees casualties on both sides, but ultimately Eumenes's forces win their final banner.
