Round 2
Match 1
Player 1 (Niger) beckerdo: 2 banners won
Player 2 (Severus) Cavie: 7 banners won

Match 2
Player 2 (Niger) Cavie: 5 banners won
Player 1 (Severus) beckerdo: 7 banners won

Two nice matches of Dan vs Dan where we both did better than Round 1. Game was decided on the left flank of Severus in both games where the cavalry detracted from the main battle on the hills and eventually secured enough banners for the win each time. Lots of fun this round for both of us. Thanks for the great games Dan!

Round 2 - Match 1
Player 1 (Niger) alecrespi: 5 banners won
Player 2 (Severus) TTK: 7 banners won

As one might imagine, the cavalry advance on the left flank by the Severus side was decisive.
Niger tried to break through the central army but his troops had already been decimated by too many arrow hits!
Great game.

Match 1
Mark McG (Niger) - 5 banners
Alister (Severus) 7 banners

After the brief obligatory cavalry dust up that resolved at 1:1, the Severans Double timed up and chewed up the Light foot in front of the hill. There was then a long tussle on the Severan right as they pushed to the base of the hill and the Nigerians held the hill, and rather fortunately killed the Severan leader on a double Leader roll. The Niger troops then pushed hard on this flank, but suffewred adversity, but took a handful of banners.

Match
Alister (Niger) - 2 banners
Mark McG (Severus) 7 banners

In a close replay of Match 1, the obligatory cavalry clash went 1:0 to the Severans. Then the Severan line closed up for a huge pila launch, which wasa met by a Darken the Skies. Again the Light foot was butchered, and the Niger remained on the hill. The Severans brough cavalry up for what was the planned strike ariound the left flank, but some luck on the right flank made this path a lot more promising and was pressed. At one point the Severans were 6:0 up, but Niger himself came up and took 2 banners before final defeat.

Not often 2 matches so closely follow the same path.

Match 1

TTC: Niger - 2 Banners
rjorge: Severus - 7 Banners

The battle started with one round of ranged volleys with no casualties. Severus ordered a charge from his medium cavalry, causing minimal losses. On retribution though, Niger cavalry counter-attack backfired spectacularly, with a devastating battle-back that caused a full route and a well-placed first strike that decimated his cavalry flank. On the follow-up, a very effective attack against Niger caused their side to retreat to the hills in an attempt to regroup. Severus answered with a massive ranged attack that softened their position very effectively, and from here on the battle was pretty much decided. Severus pressed forward, and it was a matter of time until Niger had to concede by heavy attrition.

Match 2

rjorge: Niger - 7 Banners
TTC: Severus - 2 Banners

The battle started with ranged combat as usual. Niger side would be punished for his unwillingness to retreat his light infantry early on, with a very successful offensive that instantly removed two light infantry units from combat. From here on, much of the battle was ranged trades between both sides in an attempt to get an edge for the close combat on the hills. The stalemate would be terminated by a Severus cavalry advance. Niger noticing the flanking threat ordered his own cavalry for a very successful counter-charge that pinned Severus cavalry in place. Severus in response to this turn of events decided to move for the kill on the center, but this move would prove a fatal mistake. Niger was able to tank the onslaught and by placing one of his own heavy infantries supported by a general on the offensive flank, devastation ensued. In one turn, three heavy infantry units and one medium infantry unit would be completely destroyed by this daring move. This marked the downfall of Severus, that was unable to come back from such decisive maneuver.

Round 2 - Match 2
Player 1 (Niger) TTK: 4 banners won
Player 2 (Severus) alecrespi: 7 banners won

Pretty much all 7 points with the cavalry (Severus) on the left side.
At a certain point the dice results were decisive to take the points of the units left with 1 single block.
