Round 4 Game 1 Nicopolis 49 BCPlayer TTK (Rome):

Rd 4 Nicopolis
Gonzo (Rome) 7 banners
Gottoman (Pontus) 4 banners
Pntus started with attacks with their HC and Chariots on each side, doing some damage, but a strong bb followed by a DT from the Roman right Killed both HC asnd chariots and nailed the leader trying to escape through HI. Pontine cav on other flank, charged and did more damage before the chariot was killed and the HC withdrew with one block. The game settled to attrition on both flanks to final score.

Gottoman (Rome) 5 banners
Gonzo (Pontus) 7 banners
Range strike and First Strike nailed a HCH on Roman Left. Pontine center shifted to right and infantry battle ensued. Several big rolls with a Spartacus goping well for Pontines but a 3 flag roll on Roman MC and a 1 ldr hit on another battle decided the game.

the scenario is still not played quickly
I see it in the small mobility of the center of Pharnac Pontic

The game went with a margin of 1 banner of Rome, I kept catching up...
For example, the first turn is the first shooting of Roman archers and there are no Chariots on the right... SNUF!

There were unfinished units of 1 block from all sides

There was a terrible slaughter of legionaries with Chariots. (in final only 4 blocks HI Rome stand in play)
Then there were the mounted attacks of Rome.

When it came to the endshpil, the score was 4:4...

Pharnac took two HI guard and one MI to the convergence with the Rome Legion MI (settlers) are...
At the first attack, Pharnac was killed, and his guard remained heroic in the amount of 1 block and slaughtered 3 units in the end, although the First Strike came in time...

Very close and exciting game where my dice failed me so many times. My veteran legio of course moved forward and wreak havoc on Pontic left, but in the end unlucky lc2d killed my leader... I was close to despair but did not give up and tried to regain initiative on the other side. Easier said than done - 4d attack on unsupported chariot failed (no escape route) and I was sure this is it. But in the end dice abandoned Azzy , I survived and finished the game...

Completely different game. As Pontic I had all needed cards, - Order Light Troops, Double Time, Mounted Charge. Bloody and fast it was.

Two very close games that could have gone either way right up to the final banner.

In the first game Rome pulled in the left wing to attack the Pontus centre with the heavy troops. They pushed almost to the baseline but were held off and ended up losing out in the war of attrition on the wings.

In the second game Pontus concentrated their Cavalry on the weak Roman centre and over several moves, following a cavalry charge and with the support of the Pontus centre troops, destroyed it entirely. The isolated Roman wings fought back bravely and racked up enough banners to defeat Pontus in the nick of time.
