Game 2
Asqwasqw (Epirote): 6 Banners
Gonzo(Romans): 3 Banners
The fight began with a lot of manuevering, as both sides attempted to rid their hands of unwanted cards while advancing in a solid line. Each army pushed their right flanks forward. After a lot of build up, the Epirotes drew first blood with a warrior charge, which was swiftly countered by the advance of the Romans, who cut down the warriors after a tough struggle. Pyrrhus counter attacked fiercely (1st spartacus card), and managed to rout some heavy infantry, though his escort infantry were driven backwards significantly. Pyrrhus advanced his right flank in an effort to get them into the fight, at which point the Romans surged forward, wiping out the elephants. This allowed the Epirotes to counter attack harshly again (2nd spartacus card), destroying three groups of roman Medium troops, although leaving the army scattered and heavily wounded. The battle concluded with a heroic charge by the Roman cavalry on the wavering medium infantry in a final attempt to rout the Epirotes. Alas, leaderless, they failed in their charge and were cut down in short order, giving the field to the Epirotes.
Interesting round with lots of cardplay (3 double times, 3 I am Spartacuses, 3 order light troops (in a row!). Definitely could have gone differently with a little shift in dice rolls/cards. Thanks to Gonzo for the enjoyable games.
