Game 1

Armada01 Carthaginian 6 (Lost 12 blocks) Gonzo Roman 1 (Lost 29 Blocks)
Carthaginians very lucky in this one with missile fire effective enough to stunt the Roman strategy. Carthaginians attacked the Roman Center but were driven back. As Romans advanced with Double Time, the Carthaginians caused enough losses that their counterattack was able to end the game.

Game 2
A very interesting game with 5 line commands played in a row. Romans thought they had an opening but were not strong enough to keep initiative. An intensive attack by Carthaginian Warrior and Heavy infantry carried the field.

Gonzo Carthaginians 6 (Lost 12 blocks) Armada01 Roman 1 (Lost 27 blocks)

Do I see it correctly - 2 blocks decided the end result? That was close!

I'm surprised by two Carthaginian 6-1 results! I estimated the scenario much closer than that.

Going to watch those log files but those results are crazy! I'm not surprised at the Roman loss since that is usual for this scenario however only 1 banner on both games is unusual.

Mike and I will hopefully get our games played soon. Had some conflicts hold us up. Congrats to both of you on a well played Semi finals - that was close!

Looks like Game 1 was uploaded both times - any chance of uploading Game 2? Would love to see it. Thanks.

Uploaded Game 2. I think I mislabelled originally. The 2nd game should be up now.

Game 1

scipio1zama Roman 6 (Lost 28 blocks) Cavie Carthaginian 5 (Lost 26 Blocks)

I (Mike) won the first game as the Romans, 6-5. After some initial maneuvering (which had both the Romans AND the Carthaginians moving toward the Carthaginian side of the board) and missile fire, I launched an attack against the Carthaginian left flank, but he attacked back and took out a Roman Auxilia and MI, in spite of my use of a First Strike card. I attacked there again and managed to get his Auxilia. More back and forth (including my use of Spartacus) found the fighting taking place ever closer to the Carthaginian side of the board, but a Roman attack with an Inspired Center Leadership card resulted in the loss of a Roman MI when the Carth. played the First Strike. Then the Carthaginian used a Leadership Any Section card to attack in the center and kill a Roman MI and HI. Now the score stood 5-1 in favor of the Carthaginians. But he had damaged units and was backed up against his own line. The Roman attacked with an Order 3 Units Center card and killed a Carth. Warrior and 2 HI. His Rally card didn’t help much and a Roman Coordinated Attack killed another Warrior and a leader for the last 2 banners and the win.

The Romans begin the scenario with a well-organized line, so getting the troops forward and into battle seems to be a key to success. I was fortunate enough to have the cards to do this.
