Round 2 - 113 Paraitacene (317 BC)

plainscape (Antigonus) 7 banners won - 21 Banners lost
Gonzo (Eumenes) 5 banners won - 33 Banners lost

We spent the early part of the round trying to attack each other's elephants and line up our armies for a head on collision in the center. After we engaged with each other, I was down men. But, then a well place cavalry charge brought the bulk of my cavalry into the fray, taking many infantry with them. The foe was not dead yet and managed to fight back fiercely. But, with one bold and rather ill thought-out move (I really left myself exposed if it didn't work!), I eked out victory from the jaws of defeat.

It was a good game and I thank my opponent!

Round 3 - 114 Gabiene (316 BC)

Mark McG (Antigonus) 7 banners won - 19 Banners lost
gabriele (Eumenes) 4 banners won - 24 Banners lost

Antigonids opened well with a missles causing a elephant rampage and tramble on the Eumenoi left. Eumenoi elephants charged, and wrought trouble taking an elephant and a Medium infantry. Fortunately a Clash of Shields (and tusks) stabilised the situation, eliminating all 3 Eumenoi elephants.

Then came a matter for grinding down the cavalry, and Light infantry, avoiding the Centre until the last final push. Cost me the LBC and the MC.

Round 1- Hellespont

Joe Harrison (Eumenes) 6 banners won-14 figures lost
Michael (Sharpe08) 1 banner won- 19 figures lost

Michael lost a leader early to a lucky melee hit. In a game with only 2 leaders, he was unable to recover. Several Eumenes units only had one hit left on them. Actually pl;ayed 2 weeks ago, sorry for delay in reporting.

Round #1: Hellespont
Mark McG: 3 Banners Won, 25 Blocks lost
taliapharaoh: 6 Banners Won, 14 Blocks lost

Round 1, Hellespont Travis (Eumenes) 6 - Mark McG (Craterus) 3

Both armies fought well, but the dice favored Eumenes in just about every close combat encounter. The Eumenid (sp?) army moved against the Craterian right and scored some early success, but the issue was decided in the center, with the heavies duking it out. Craterian army certainly outmaneuvered the Eumenids, but the dice were too much to overcome.

Round 5 - 123 Indus (306 BC)

Mark McG (Seleucid) 6 banners won - 26 blocks lost
Gonzo (Mauryan) 4 banners won - 25 Blocks lost

Played in two parts, and at this stage I have no recollection of the first part several weeks ago.
2nd part was just a finish up of about 6 Command Cards  . Score was 4-3, and one exposed unit each was eliminated. Then it was a matter of looking for the weak spot, and luckily I found one. Final roll was 4 LDR on 4d. Never seen that before.

Round 3 - 114 Gabiene (316 BC)

plainscape (Antigonus) 6 banners won - 10 blocks lost
Travis (who I hope is taliapharaoh) (Eumenes) 2 banners won - 19 blocks lost

I got lucky. REALLY lucky. Attacking the Elephants caused a rampage which softened the enemy's right flank. Then my mounted charge met with incredible sucess. (Despite the first strike killing a leader, slowing momentum). This was followed by a botched counter on his left where he accidentally got one of his leaders killed. The rest was just clean up work.

Round 3 - 114 Gabiene (316 BC)

Greg O (Antigonus) 7 banners won - 10 blocks lost
Gonzo (Eumenes) 3 banners won - 27 blocks lost

Tough battle for Eumenes, started with a FS on his elephant on the right flank with that elephant totally surrounded and two banners rampage resulting and his right flank was unhinged and then a later mounted charge unhinged both right and left sides. He managed to pick up three banners in his last play, but another rampage hit killed a 1 strength HC and ended the game.

Round 5 - 123 Indus (306 BC)

MichalK (Seleucid) 6 banners won - 19 blocks lost
taliapharoah (Mauryan) 4 banners won - 25 Blocks lost

That was very good and tense game. After initial exchange of arrows, Mauryan centre advanced to relief pinned LC. Unfortunately, 3 attacks on Auxiliary unit did not succeed. Two chariots and cavalry were dead. End of game? Under no circumstances? Citing on of the players I value very much "Desperate player is most dangerous one" . Counterattack was devastating - two rolls on my HI, which annihilated them. In the meantime my kamikaze attack using Clash of Shields and 1 block MC. Result changed from 3-0 for me to 3-4.

Finally I managed to dispatch Mauryan HI and MC. 5-4, and so close to win. But no, again good attack by Travis - double time with two Auxiliary units, reducing my 4 block HI to 1 block. Yes, to 1 - which was just enough to kill one Aux and win finally...

That scenario is really a great fun - although does not seem so, both sides have good troops and Mauryan are not without chances. Real fun!
