Field General’s Initiative

- If you roll Crossed Swords, can move but cant attack. Correct?

Correct, you cannot play both Field and Army Command Cards.
Field General´s Initiative roll is strictly linked to Field Command cards played.

If the Overall Commander has played at least one Field Command card in the turn, any Field General that has not had any of his units in his section ordered by a Field Command card may decide to act on his own initiative and attempt to order one unit in his section.

The Overall Commander may only play one Army Command card on a turn. He may not play any Field Command cards in the same turn an Army Command card is played.

I think both "Crossed Swords" and "Banner" results disallow standard move action as the word "ordered" is missing from their definitions (compared to other results).

Ok, but an answer of the designer will be okay, because I could have misunderstood the rules of Ancients, Nap and Overlord by a fault of words. " The unit can´t move and No battle"

the card says "the unit may not battle" and this could be implies "Order" before Not battle.

Memoir Overlord Overlord is 2009 too.
