Leadership card question

Brand new to the game. I have a question about leadership cards. I know that the units activated must all be adjacent to one another, but is there any requirement that they remain that way during the activation. For example, if I have 2LC and 2HI adjacent when I play leadership (and a leader is present in one of them) can I advance the 2LC 4 hexes and the HI 1 hex, or is the LC restricted to moving at most 2 hexes remaining adjacent to the HI when they complete their move?

Hi howlingfang,
After activating, you can move them freely.
The only restriction about that is being adjacent "before" the activation.

Thanks for the answer.

Played again last night and I have another question about leadership cards. If I play, for example, Inspired Centre Leadership +3, does that mean that I can order a leader in the centre and up to three linked units in any section or only linked units that are also in the section? In other words, is the section limitation only on where the leader is located or for all units to move?

PS. Great game by the way...I think I have found that elusive two-player war game that can be played in a reasonable time.

Hi Fang, I'm pretty new to this too but had the same situation. We played it that as long as they are adjacent you can move units that cross sections.

If someone could clarify this that would be great!

I believe the restriction only applies to the location of the leader. After you choose a leader in an appropriate section, you can link units from everywhere.
