Had a game last night and a question came up about how long a first strike card remains active during a turn. Here is the scenario:
1) Player A moves Units A1 and A2 adjacent to Player B's Unit B1
2) Player A uses Unit A1 to initiate attack on Unit B1 of Player B
3) Player B throws down a First Strike command card
4) B1 attacks A1 (B1's battle back precedes A1's attack)
5) A1 survives and attacks B1
6) B1 survives
So far it is straightforward, then:
A2 attacks B1
The question is, is the first strike card still active because the SAME UNIT (B1) is being attacked again although by a different unit (A2), or does the first strike card become inactive after the battle between A1 and B1?
We were divided on the interpretation. We resolved with a die roll and would appreciate any clarifications. Thanks.

the First Strike card become inactive after the battle between A1 and B1.
It remains active for a single battle (1 attacker vs 1 defender).
