Warriors must attack when moving 2

Hi,
Apologies if I've missed this somewhere else but I have a question on the rules or etiquette when using warriors. The scenario is I've moved a warrior 2 hexes so they must attack. However I have another unit who can attack that unit and can (and did) destroy it. The warrior then had no one else to attack. What happens in this situation. As the rules say must attack does this mean the warrior must attack first so this doesn't happen or is it etiquette to do this, or should the warrior move back a hex as it can't attack.

Warriors now can´t attack. They wait another turn, impatiently....

@bartok is correct.

The proper sequence is :

• Order units (and leaders)
• Move
• Battle

Then using the warrior's charge ability (2 hexes) you have to move them adjacent to an enemy unit and attack them in the "Battle" phase (if nobody destroyed them before).
