VASSAL Tournament was created by Mark-McG
Hi,

Looking again to see if there is any interest in a VASSAL tournament to get Samurai Battles (Commands & Colors) played more often?
Depending on numbers, could be a round robin, or a mini-tournament.

I was looking particularly at the scenarios 009-012 as a possibility.

If I can ask you to express your interest below, and we can see if there is enough to make a go of it.

I would love to do this; I downloaded the module a while back but have never gotten a game in online.

Greetings, and thanks for leading the charge! I'd like to play more Samurai Battles, and think that your tournament formats are great. Must acknowledge two handicaps, however: Firstly, I'm playing at the beginner level, so that might be understandably tedious for some players to endure, and secondly, have found out first hand how difficult it can be at certain times to coordinate a match time, even with an entire month in which to arrange it. Hope to be seeing you online sometime for a game !

Played a game with Scott last night - anyone looking to get some experience playing via Vassal, feel free to message or email me (t_rewoldt@hotmail.com).

I'm usually available on my weeknights (between 8 pm and 11 pm MDT [GMT-6]) or weekend mornings (5 am to 8 am MDT).

So I think there are 7 players, but there are a few expressions of interest.

So I think I'll chance a 8 player mini-tournament format, and see if we can't fill that 8th spot.

For those new to the Mini-Tournament format, a brief description is that you play 5 matches, and your cumulative banner count is your total score.
When the Rounds are finished, the top 2 from the Red and the top 2 Yellow go to the semi-finals against each other. Equal banner counts are decided by figures lost as a tiebreaker.

The Semi-Finals consist of playing the scenario twice, once as each side. The Winner has the most cumulative banners over the 2 matches, with figures lost a tiebreaker. Each semi-final winner goes into the Final, with the same procedure.
